Event: FURST NIGHT PITTSBURGH FURRY GATHERING!
When: 4:30pm, Thursday, December 31, 2009
Where: Inside the Wood Street “T” Station, Street Level
Wood and Liberty Avenues, Downtown Pittsburgh, PA
Join with us as we take in the festivities and revel in the events of Pittsburgh's First Night 2010 Celebrations and howl in the New Year with fireworks and furiends!
Furiends old and new are welcome to take part in this annual Pittsburgh furry event which is fast becoming a holiday favorite full of cozy warmth and friendly cheer.
Held on the coat tails of First Night Pittsburgh 2010, now in its 13th year, the event is a community- and family-oriented, alcohol-free celebration of the arts. Revelers enjoy - and in some cases, join in - the multiple, simultaneous and continuous performances of dance, music, song, mime, story telling, theater, poetry, film, video and multi-media presentations."
That’s only the beginning! There’s much, much more to see and do at this the last Western PA Furry event of 2009 and the first of 2010!
The First Night 2010 website has been updated and they now have a schedule of events listed so you may plan your evening. The buttons which get you into all the venues are still $8. They are available at the Box Office at Theater Square (655 Penn Avenue, Downtown), at participating Giant Eagle stores, and this year you can order them on-line from their website!
There are a few Vouchered Events as is normal. Sil and I are planning to get vouchers to attend the 7:30pm performance of "Johnny Angel & the Halos" and the 10pm performance by the "River City Brass Band." You don't have to follow around with us though. Check out the schedule, join in the excitement, and make your own experience.
Would you like to join the Parade? Great! Simply stop by the Parade Information table located outdoors on 10th Street at the Pittsburgh Convention Center no later than 7:30 p.m. The Parade is five blocks long starts at the Westin if you're interested in bringing your fursuit and joining in the fun.
This is a reminder! If you're interested in attending, please RSPV by replying here or e-mailing me at events AT swiftsden dot net with "First Night" in the subject line so I know who I should be looking for. Then, mark it down on your calendar to spend New Year's Eve with friends at the annual First Night Furry Gathering.

That really all I have to say. If ya wanna try any other mountains hit me up. I"ll see what I can do because I can ski and board and rather well at that. If you want to just try it i'm cool with that, take a lesson and I"ll stay with ya for the day. But anyway hit me up if interested.

**FINAL EDIT Thu Dec 10 02:15:47 UTC 2009**
So there is the final update... Over the past day we have processed around 11 million jobs out of the 12 million that were in queue at that time. Please bear in mind that over this past day, more jobs for notifications are also created. So while the queue has been dropping, we are still not fully caught up at this point, due to backlog and new jobs. We have roughly 3 million jobs still pending that involve the notification system in some manner. We had hoped we could have fully cleared the queue in a day, but unfortunately we can't clear it too quickly, since we need the rest of the site to operate normally. From our current perspective on the amount of jobs that are left in queue, and how many it has processed thus far, we believe it will take around another 8 - 12 hours to process everything.
And finally some answers to some questions:

Hey everyone! With two weeks to go, details have been finalized for a meet in December to see James Cameron's newest feature AVATAR, www.avatarmovie.com/, in the best format of IMAX 3D, www.imax.com/.
When: Saturday, December 19th @ 4 PM. Plan to arrive at theater like 3 - 3:15 so everyone may get together and get a reasonable seat.
Where: R/C Reading Movies 11 & IMAX
30 North Second Street

www.rctheatres.com/loc_reading.asp
Cost: $14
Tickets are available now - www.fandango.com/rcreadingmovies1126imax _aauyp/theaterpage

I'm not going to write a long post this time. Seriously. The new years' furry ball is coming up, and you should come - it's gonna be awesome! Last year we had a ton of people, we're expecting more this year. There's cheap booze, food, and good times for all. If you're not registered now, please do. That'll help us get an idea of how much we need of certain things. Registration online is free, and then it's just $10 at the door to get in (plus $5 for booze.)
I've spammed a lot of the info out over and over, and you can read everything you need to at http://www.furrynewyear.com/.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
